Abstract Wound dressings with long-term antimicrobial activity are highly desired for treatment of chronic wound infections. This study aims to prepare antimicrobial membranes composed of physical crosslinked Aloevera and PVA polymers and chemical crosslinked gelatin and PVA polymers. Curcumin was added to improve the membrane biological properties, Caffeine and Vitamin C were added to improve healing effect in addition to gentamycin was added for improving antimicrobial properties. FTIR spectroscopy was used to show their chemical structures, while SEM, XRD and TGA analysis were applied to studies the morphological changes and the thermal properties of the chemical and physical cross linked membranes respectively. |
