Abstract Benign tumors are much most common than malignant tumors. A benign tumor is an abnormal development of cells that serves no purpose. The cells are more developed and be similar to the cells from which they developed. Benign tumors show a higher degree of uniformity with respect to malignant tumors which widely vary even among tumors of the same type [1]. Once the development of cells reaches a certain size, it usually slows or stops, such as a mole on the skin. All the cells of a benign tumour remain together as a lump or swelling that is usually bounded by a capsule or lining of fibrous tissue. They do not spread to other parts of the body and are generally easily removed by surgery [2]. The benign tumor exists at the site of occurrence, do not spread to other parts while malignant tumors have the capability of sending metastases to distant locations in the body. |
