Young people represent the capital of societies, their promise, their equipment, their present and their future, and it is the wealth of the nation that strengthens its wealth and resources, and if we realize how to preserve it and refine its skills and experiences, then the youth are the future and hope. Among them is the profession of social service, and youth in any nation is the main source of its renaissance, the complex of its hopes and the protective shield that it relies on in defense of its entity and in achieving its goals.
Therefore, the humanities and social sciences, chiefly (social work - sociology - psychology) have been interested in studying young people and their attitudes, knowledge, skills and problems, among them the waste of time with attention to youth rights and issues, with the aim of helping young people to grow, study, work and be in harmony with the surrounding environment, as an attempt to deal with With the waste of time, which prevents youth from giving and investing their creative energies.
And based on the great importance of the resource of time (time), it is extremely important to invest it, not to waste it and the many factors and causes that lead to loss and waste of time, as wasting time are factors that lead to wasting the time available for the university student to benefit from it, in recalling his lessons and doing work that will benefit him and benefit him. It achieves fewer results by analogy with what time is agreed upon, which is
1
unlike the investment of time, as it is a factor that steals time, separating the student from completing the tasks assigned to him.
Social work is considered one of the most important human professions, aimed at achieving goodness, well-being and happiness for the human being, and group work method as one of the basic social service profession methods. It has an important role in the field of youth care, through the use of the youth welfare group and its activities, to reduce waste of time, through the use of time. Optimal use, in the beneficial activities provided by the university’s youth welfare groups.
The task center model in the group work is considered one of the models that save time and effort, and this is consistent with what the modern trends of the professional practice of the method of group work call for, and in line with the characteristic of the age of the necessity of saving time and effort, especially when dealing with the youth group. As this model does not depend on a specific technique, but is based on the selective theory of intervention, which allows choosing suitable alternatives for different situations.
The task center model in group work used as one of the models that can be relied on the theoretical data, in helping the members to reduce the waste of time, by investing the potentials and abilities of young people to complete the tasks assigned to them, as quickly as possible with the highest level of efficiency, effectiveness and quality in performance.
2
Attention to the method of group work and testing their models and theories at the present time is one of the worthy issues, so that the method of working with groups can accommodate the recent changes that have taken place in the Arab arena in general and in Kuwaiti society in particular, which have affected the youth in general and the Kuwaiti youth in general. Particular, and as a response in terms of the method of group work to those variables.
Hence, the study problem crystallized in an attempt to reveal the effectiveness of the task center model in method of group work to reduce the waste of time among Kuwaiti university youth.
Secondly, The importance of the study:
1-The study derives its importance from the importance of time in the lives of people in general and the youth group in particular as it is the only way to achieve goals and objectives. The ability of young people to achieve effective time management helps them to achieve quality in various areas of life, whether inside or outside the university after graduation.
2- The study also derives its importance based on the importance of university youth, who represent a social segment that cannot be underestimated and a distinctive position in society. They are the most dynamic, active and flexible age groups, which makes them the most capable of modification, change, renewal and construction.
Therefore, the focus is on developing knowledge related to ways of reducing from a waste of their time, which leads to the maximum utilization of their multiple and creative energies in advancing the production and development wheel of the Kuwaiti society in the least possible time.
3
3- Universities are one of the social upbringing institutions that work in the field of youth welfare, which is one of the most important areas of development that the social work profession emphasizes and gives it special importance in professional practice.
4- task center model is considered one of the group work models that suit the conditions of the Kuwaiti society and its need to achieve high rates of social development, especially in light of the developments in the Arab arena in general and in the Kuwaiti society in particular.
5-The need to test the effectiveness of modern social scientific models and approaches, including (task center model) for the professional practice of working with groups in order to work on adapting these models and using them to enrich professional practice and increase its effectiveness.
6- This study may contribute to assisting officials and decision-makers in youth welfare institutions in the State of Kuwait in developing and designing plans that would reduce the time wasting of university youth in light of a professional intervention program and the results and recommendations of the study.
Thirdly, the objectives of the study:
The objectives of the study are as follows:
The study seeks to achieve a main objective: To test the effectiveness of practicing the task center model to reduce time wasting among university youth at Kuwait University.
Sub-objectives of the study .
1- To test the effectiveness of practicing the task center model to counter poor time management among university youth.
4
2- To test the effectiveness of practicing the task center model to confront Internet addiction among university youth.
3- Test the effectiveness of practicing the task center model to confront university youth’s addiction to electronic games.
4- Test the effectiveness of practicing the task center model to reduce excessive phone calls.
Fourth: Study hypothesis:
The current study seeks to test the validity of the main hypothesis that:
It is expected that there are significant statistically significant differences between the averages of the results of the tribal and remote measurements of the members of the experimental group on the time-wasting scale of university youth at the College of Social Sciences, Kuwait University in favor of the post-measurement as a result of practicing the task-focusing model in the service of the group.
The following sub-hypotheses are derived from this main hypothesis:
1- It is expected that there are significant statistically significant differences between the averages of the results of the tribal and posterior measurements of the members of the experimental group and the control group on the time-wasting scale of university youth at the College of Social Sciences, Kuwait University in favor of the post-measurement as a result of practicing the task-focusing model in group service for the first dimension (to reduce of poor timing).
5
2- It is expected that there are significant statistically significant differences between the averages of the results of the tribal and remote measurements of the members of the experimental group and the control group on the time-wasting scale among university youth at the College of Social Sciences, Kuwait University in favor of the post-measurement as a result of practicing the task-focusing model in serving the group for the second dimension (to reduce of internet addiction).
3- It is expected that there are significant statistically significant differences between the averages of the results of the tribal and remote measurements of the members of the experimental group on the time-wasting scale among university youth at the College of Social Sciences, Kuwait University in favor of the post-measurement as a result of practicing the focus on tasks model in the service of the group for the third dimension (to reduce addiction Electronic games ).
4- It is expected that there are significant statistically significant differences between the averages of the results of the tribal and remote measurements of the members of the experimental group on the time-wasting scale among university youth at the College of Social Sciences, Kuwait University in favor of the post-measurement as a result of practicing the focus on tasks model in the service of the group for the fourth dimension (to reduce calls telephone overload).
Fifthly, the study concepts:
The study included several basic concepts:
1- The concept of task center model.
6
2- The concept of wasting time.
3- The concept of effectiveness.
4- The concept of professional practice.
Sixthly, the study methodology:
1-The type of the study:
This study is considered one of the quasi-experimental studies that test hypotheses, and it seeks to measure the return of professional intervention in social service, as this study is concerned with examining the effect of the relationship between two variables, one of which is an independent variable, which is a professional intervention program from the perspective of community service based on the task center model. And the other continued, which is ”a waste of time among Kuwaiti university youth.”.
2-The applied methodology:
This study relies on the experimental method because it is consistent with the objectives and type of the study, and it is a research procedure in which the researcher determines the situation with its specific conditions and circumstances.
3- Study tools:
The study relied on the following tools:
(A) The measure of ”waste of time among Kuwaiti university youth” prepared by the researcher and contains a set of dimensions, namely: (poor time management - Internet addiction - addiction to electronic games, excessive phone calls).
7
(B) Periodic reports. Periodic reports are an important means of collecting data and information on group members, as they are one of the most important methods used by group specialists as a way to describe what happened in group meetings, as well as to know the extent of changes that occur to group members by analyzing the content of these reports.
Seventhly, the study aspects:
A) The spatial aspect:
The spatial domain is represented in the ”College of Social Sciences at Kuwait University” for the study to be conducted in it due to the availability of the study sample, the approval of the college and the willingness on its part and on the part of the work team to assist the researcher.
B) The human aspect :
The human field is determined in a sample of (30) students, and they were randomly divided into two groups, the strength of the experimental group (15) members and a control group of (15) members.
C) The chronological aspect:
The period of time during which the theoretical and practical framework was prepared for the study and is estimated at about two years from the date of registration.
8
Eighthly, the study results:
1- The results of the study indicated that there are differences between the cases of the control group and the cases of the experimental group with regard to their average scores for the post-measurement on the scale as a whole, which shows the effectiveness of the professional intervention program using the task center model to reduce time wasting among Kuwaiti university youth. The results of the study confirm the validity of the main hypothesis of the study.
2- The results of the study indicated that there were no significant differences between the average scores of the pre-measurement for the control group and the experimental cases on the scale as a whole, and in light of these results it was found that there is a homogeneity between the control group cases and the experimental group cases with respect to their average scores for the pre-measurement on each dimension of the scale and on The scale as a whole and the results confirm the validity of the first sub-hypothesis.
3- The results of the study indicated that there are significant differences between the average scores of the pre and post measurement for the cases of the experimental group on the scale as a whole, as it was found that there is a change in the cases of the experimental group with regard to their average scores for the pre and post measurement on each dimension of the scale and on the scale as a whole due to the effect of the program Professional intervention The results confirm the validity of the second sub-hypothesis of the study.
