Abstract

We notice a massive growth of Ulva along North Delta, Egypt. So we collect two different species of Ulva from two different sites. The preset study identify the type of Ulva Spp. morphologically, microscopically and by using molecular technic. Ulva pertusa was collected from El-Garabaa North El-Manzala Lake-Egypt (site1) while Ulva lactuca was collected from Damietta River Nile Estuary shore (site2) over the year 2019, the covering % and vegetation growth of Ulva Spp. at study sites were studied.
The study was interested in studying biochemical compounds and classifying natural compounds. It was also interested in separating natural compounds from Ulva Spp. extracts by means of a GC / MS.
The bioactivity of Ulva Spp. extracts was tested against three species of cancer
cells:
(Liver cancer (HEPG2), breast cancer (MCF-7), and colon cancer (Caco-2).
We have also determined the total antioxidant in each extracts which with the increase of total antioxidant in the extracts the efficiency of extracts against different types of cancer cells increase, That Emphasizes the economic return from the use of Ulva Spp. as source of food and its benefit effect in human health.
