Abstract
Flexible intramedullary nail is a good option for fixation of proximal shaft radius fractures. It provides a minimally invasive method of fixation. It avoids the risk of posterior interosseous nerve injury with better cosmosis and good functional outcomes.
However, the lack of absolute anatomic reduction and mechanical stability necessitates 4 weeks of long arm slab immobilization and more time for bone union, it may be the only solution in some cases as very proximal fractures where is no enough space for screws, and compound comminuted fractures.
