Abstract Due to the diversity of fluids in nature, a lot of models have been proposed to describe their flow behavior in different circumstances. A wide range of commonly encountered fluids includes Newtonian fluids. But a large number of fluids appearing in industry differ greatly from Newtonian fluids in their rheology. Newtonian fluids are recognized by the linear relationship between stress and the rate of strain. In many existing fluids with complex molecular structure, the relation between stress and strain is found to be non-linear. Therefore, the Newtonian fluids model cannot be used to predict, analyze and simulate the behavior of many viscoelastic fluids. Hence, in practical situations and applications in industry, it is necessary to study the flow behavior of non-Newtonian fluids [1, 2]. |
