Abstract

Burg El Arab is an oil field in the Alamein Basin, which is currently being investigated for hydrocarbons. Burg El Arab is located 10 kilometres east of the Horus oil field and Alamein- Yidma oilfield, and 10 kilometres north of the Ras Qattara block-2. The Burg El Arab field was discovered in February 1997 after the completion of the Ig 40-1 and Ig 40-2 research wells, according to Burg El Arab Petroleum Company. With the completion of the Ig
40-2 exploration wells, production from the Abu Roash ”G” Dolomite reservoir began on the same day. As a result, the primary goal of this thesis is to assess the hydrocarbon potential of the Bahariya reservoir by combining 2D seismic and well logging data.
