المستخلص The present study is concerned with the removal rate of Copper ions Cu++ from wastewater by cementation of copper from copper sulfate solution on a horizontal steel sheet placed at the bottom of a square stirred tank reactor and fitted with square steel turbulence promoters. The variables studied were solution concentration, rotation speed, impeller geometry, promoter diameter and distance between promoters. The rate of mass transfer was found to increase of the rotational speed and decreased the large distance between promoters. The mass transfer correlation for the smooth surface sheet Sh = 0.0024 Sc1/3 Re0.68 mass transfer data for the conditions: 1566 < Sc < 1736, 1704 < Re < 13900, 0.05 < dp/d < 0.15, fit the following equation (45 impeller) grooved surface Sh = 0.03 Sc1/3 Re0.71 (dp/de)-0.0081 mass transfer data for the conditions: 1566 < Sc < 1736, 1704 < Re < 13900, 0.05 < dp/d < 0.15, fit the following equation (90 impeller) for grooved surface Sh = 9.104 Sc1/3 Re0.72 (dp/de)-0.0081 |
