Abstract
The Western Desert of Egypt lies at the western side of the Nile River and covers
about 700.000 km2 which is more than two-thirds of the total area of the country A large part of the desert is covered with sand sheets sand dunes and desert rock debris Generally the Western Desert is a plateau desert consists of three regional tablelands of Paleozoic-Lower Cretaceous sandstone (at south) Cretaceous–Eocene limestone(at middle).
