Abstract

Abstract
Background: Strategic human resource management is the process of linking the human resource functions with the strategic objectives of the organization to improve performance of their employees. Creative nursing practiceis defined as nursing practice performed via nurses’ creative actions (i.e., searching, thinking, asking, or trying) in crafting new therapeutic paths to respond to heuristic nursing tasks and challenges related to patient careand help in measurement of the extent to which nurses are motivated to engage in creative activities at workplace to put their effort toward thinking “outside of the box”. The aim was to explore the relationship between the importance of strategic human resource management and the nursing personnel’ creative practices. Design: descriptive correlational research design was used. Setting: the study was conducted at As.salam international hospital. Sample: all nursing personnel in the previous mentioned hospital and available at the time of data collection (N=110). Tools: Strategic Human Resources Management Scale, Creative Nursing Practices Index.
Results: the study indicated a statistical positive significant correlation between strategic human resources management and creative nursing practices. Conclusion: About less than half of studied nursing personnel had positive perception regarding importance of strategic human resource management and creative nursing practice. Also, there was a statistically significant positive correlation between importance of strategic human resource management and nursing personnel creative practices. Recommendations: Education department should conduct training programs for all nursing personnel about the importance of SHRM. Use world’s latest knowledge and technology, and application of novel management systems centered on employee creativity. Further studies: about the impact of effective application of strategic human resource management on quality services in the hospital. And Effect of strategic human resource management on innovative behavior of nurses.
