Abstract Sexuality is an integral part of life. However, erectile dysfunction (ED) was one of the most common complaints in men with sexual health problems (Ahn et al., 2007). The aim of our study is to evaluate the effectiveness of using a simple, easy and non-invasive procedure such as FMS in patients with ED without using any pharmacological medications. Our study was conducted in a private clinic under the supervision of Dr. Hassan Mostafa Hassan Abdelrahman during the period from December 2018 to December 2019. A total of 60 adult males were diagnosed with erectile dysfunction, between 18 and 70 years of age scheduled to undergo 20 sessions of a commercially available magnetic stimulator (TESLA Stym, Functional Magnetic Simulation (FMS)). This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of FMS in the treatment of erectile dysfunction as indicated by changes of the IIEF score of every subject before and after the procedure. The technique of the session was standardized in all of the three treated groups who were randomly allocated. FMS was performed using a stimulation of 60% intensity, 10Hz frequency with 10 seconds on and 10 seconds off for 10 minutes duration following by 60% intensity, 25Hz frequency with 10 seconds on and 10 seconds off for 10 minutes duration. In favor of IIEF score and erectile function domain score, we found that there was significant increase in the score in all of the three groups. Maximum increase of the score was in group c. |
