Abstract

The incidence of HPAI H5N1and VNDV virus in broilers poultry farms was investigated in this study in (Menuofia-Ghrbia) provinces of Egypt during the period of 1/2014 to 5/2015 using Real-time PCR.The highly pathogenic avian influenza H5N1 virus was detected in (9/20) of examined broilers poultry farms and (9/20) For VNDV.
In the second part of the study, we examined the efficacy of the inactivated vaccines for control of avian influenza (AI) infection. In this study, 3 types of inactivated vaccines of AI (inactivated H5N1, inactivated H5N2 and inactivated H5N3) were evaluated through the inoculation of the vaccine in broiler chicks at seven day, then immunity response of the chickens were followed up by several serum samples collected at 7, 14, 21, 28, 35 and 42 day old, and HI test were done. The results of our study showed that it is preferable to use the homologous HI antigen in the HI test for estimation of AIV antibody to accurately evaluate the flock immune status and potency of vaccine use.
