Abstract Pre-eclampsia is a major complication of pregnancy, it is pregnancy-specific Condition, represents a major cause of morbidity and mortality in mother, fetus and infant in many parts of the world. Making this is the second commonest cause of death in late pregnancy and postpartum worldwide. The aims of the present study were, to find out the risk factors associated with Preeclampsia and evaluate the maternal and neonatal outcomes with preeclampsia to answer, what are the risk factors associated with pre-eclampsia and women more liable to maternal and neonatal complications than normotensive women? The research design was case control. The sample contained, a total of 140 parturient women (70 with Preeclampsia and 70 control without the disease). The study will be conducted in the obstetric and gynecological department at the El Takhasose hospital in Damietta. The tool was used for data collections included structured interview Sheet for collecting data about socio-demographic data ,obstetrical and medical history, current pregnancy maternal assessment summary of Labor and neonatal assessment. The results of this study revealed that high incidence of preeclampsia among yang women; low education level and unregular antenatal care.The study recommended should be trained in performing and assisting with maternal and fetal assessment of preeclamptic. |
