Abstract

Conclusion:
1- The research published 76 panels of Khabi’at al-Ghuri preserved in the Museum of Arabic Calligraphy in Alexandria. They are published for the first time, including a panel of Ijaza, Mashq, muraqqa’ and calligraphic patterns.
2- The research dealt with the concept of Ijaza, its importance, inception, and the conditions for its validity by highlighting one of the Khabi’at panels that contained two forms of Ijaza.
3- The texts of the panels included more historical information that benefits workers in the field of tourism guidance and those interested in the history of calligraphy in general. In addition, it included some titles for calligraphers and chains of calligraphers.
4- The research published some methods of panels artistic production, and the types of their decorations, the most prominent of which was the paper marbeling and gilding.
5- The dated writings helped in knowing the history of undated writings, in their artistic, decorative and visual style as well as their calligraphic style, as they can be compared to the dated panels to determine their approximate date.
6- The research stated some of the famous calligraphers’ biographies, as it included panels of more than 25 leading calligraphers and pioneers of calligraphy schools.
7 - The research dealt with various forms of calligraphers’ signatures, their methods of implementation, which showed the modesty and unpretentiousness of these calligraphers
Study Recommendations:
Based on the aforementioned study of the calligraphic panels known as Khabi’at al-Ghuri preserved in the Museum of Arabic Calligraphy in Alexandria, the researcher concluded this work with the following results and recommendations, which are:
1- The need to preserve and restore the panels by archaeologists to keep this invaluable heritage, as it is noticed in the field visit to the museum that some panels had scratches.
2- Reviving the art of Arabic calligraphy by spreading its treasures around the world, which carries in its folds a revival of the Islamic heritage. This can be achieved by circulating more scientific thesis in this field.
3- The Ministry of Culture should pay great attention to the current calligraphers and encourage their creativity and artistic production, as well as encourage those talented in calligraphy.
4- Establishing associations for lovers of beautiful scripts to spread the culture of developing scripts.
5- More promotion of the Museum of Arabic Calligraphy as an important place in Alexandria.
6- Spreading awareness among tourism companies and tour guides of the importance of Arabic calligraphy and the said Museum as an important destination for tourists.
7- Developing a project of publications for these panels to be used in decorating homes, palaces, mosques, government agencies and institutions, especially as include various Qura’nic verses, prophetic hadiths, aphorisms and proverbs.
8- Preparing a project (Postal Card), such as cards that are displayed on antiquities in Arabic and English, to publish these panels and to spread Arabic calligraphy around the world.
9- Making large albums for such panels under the auspices of the government institutions, the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Antiquities, banks … etc. as the case with similar projects in many foreign and Arab countries.
10- Coordination with the Ministry of Information to present programs that present the importance of manuscripts, papyri and calligraphic panels.
