Abstract Lanthanide Complexes as Photo Probes for the Assessment of some drugs in different body fluids. The present thesis comprises of four main chapters: The first chapter Introduction and literature review, this chapter is concerned with focusing light on the chemistry of Lanthanide metal ions through their Luminescent properties, their sensitization Process and their chromophore excitation especially Complexes of Eu3+ and Tb3+ which show strong luminescence in the visible region and have been widely exploited in various applications especially fluoroimmuno assays and structural probes. The first chapter also includes the chemistry, structural, properties and the analytical methods used for detection of two central nervous system drugs such as (oxcarbazepine and Sulpiride) and lipids lowering agents such as (Atorvastatin, Ezetimibe and Simvastatin ) in addition to an anti- viral drug (Acyclovir) . The second chapter describes a selective and sensitive spectrofluorometric method for the assessment of two central nervous system drugs (Oxcarbazepine and Sulpiride) in serum samples based on the enhancement of luminescence intensity of the photo probe Eu3+. it was found that there is enhancement of fluorescence intensity between photo probe and the two drugs under study in addition to the measurement of photo probe emission and excitation wavelength (λex=390) nm under different conditions of solvent. The optimum conditions for 129 measurement are DMSO as solvent. The photo probe has been used for different concentrations of drugs at wavelength of emission (λem=618) nm illustrates the experimental work concerning the methods of preparation and standardization of solutions, it also includes the instruments used in the different measurements and methods of calculations. The third chapter is concerned with three lipid lowering agents (Atorvastatin, Ezetimibe and Simvastatin) describes a selective and sensitive spectrofluorometric method for the assessment of the three lipids lowering agents in serum samples based on the enhancement of luminescence intensity of the photo probe Eu3+. it was found that there is enhancement of fluorescence intensity between photo probe and the two drugs under study in addition to the measurement of photo probe emission and excitation wavelength ( λex=340) nm under different conditions of solvent. The optimum conditions for measurement are DMSO as solvent. The photo probe has been used for different concentrations of drugs at wavelength of emission (λem=545) nm illustrates the experimental work concerning the methods of preparation and standardization of solutions, it also includes the instruments used in the different measurements and methods of calculations. In Chapter four the anti-viral drug, Acyclovir tablet was examined by using the photo probe Tb3+ hence, it describes a selective and sensitive spectrofluorometric method for the assessment of the in serum samples based on the enhancement of luminescence intensity of the photo probe Eu3+. it was found that there is enhancement of fluorescence intensity between photo probe and the drug under study, the measurement of photo probe emission and excitation wavelength (λex=340) nm under different conditions of solvent. The optimum conditions for 130 measurement are DMSO as solvent. The photo probe has been used for different concentrations of drugs at wavelength of emission (λem=545) nm illustrates the experimental work concerning the methods of preparation and standardization of solutions, it also includes the instruments used in the different measurements and methods of calculations. |
