The present study tested the following Hypotheses; - There is no a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the experimental and the control groups on the pre-administration of the test of English functional communicative skills. - There is also a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of both the experimental group and the control group on the post-administration of the English functional communicative skills test in favor of the experimental group.334 - There is a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the experimental group on the pre and post administrations of English functional communicative skills test in favor of the post administration. Instruments of the Study - A pre-post EFL communicative functions skills test to measure the communicative functions skills of both the experimental and control groups before and after the treatment. - An evaluation scoring rubric to score students’ communicative functions performance on the pre and post administrations of the EFL communicative functions test. The study results showed that there was a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the control and the experimental group on English functional communicative skills test, in favor of the experimental group in English functional communicative skills. Moreover, the results reflected the progress of the experimental group in the post administration of English functional communicative skills test. The results of the study in general revealed that the sample of the study excelled in average scores of measuring effectiveness of WebQuest strategy (WB) on development of English functional communicative skills in the post administration of English functional communicative skills test. The study concluded the following: 1- ” There is a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the experimental and the control groups in the post administration of English functional communicative skills test in favor of the experimental group”. 2- ” Average gain rate of skills obtained via application of WebQuest strategy in developing English functional communicative skills for the experimental group which in turn reassures its effectiveness and validity. |
