Abstract A case control study, comparative Study was done to assess the sensitivity and specificity of Cystatin C in early prediction and detection of contrast-induced nephropathy in comparison to serum creatinine.Eighty patients were admitted cardiology department, Suez Canal University hospital for coronary angiography withnormal baseline serum creatinine and then they were divided into two equal groups according to calculated mean Cystatin C value. We had found the following results: There was no significant difference in both groups according to the distribution of age, BMI, hypertension, diabetes and anemia, however, group (B) showed more prevalence of male predominance, dyslipidemic and heart failure patients and underwent PCI procedure and received contrast volume more than group (A). |
