Abstract
The present study was performed in order to assess the therapeutic effects of Selenium nanoparticles in treatment of Schistosoma mansoni and compare their effects with Praziquantel (PZQ). Fourty mice were used and classified into 4 groups (10 mice each): group 1: non-infected non-treated as control negative group, group 2: Infected non-treated as control positive group, group 3: Infected and treated with PZQ, and group 4: Infected and treated with Selenium nanoparticles. All groups were sacrificed 66 days post infection (P.I.). In order to evaluate the efficacy of the tested drugs, the followings were done:
