Abstract

The present study was carried out in Minia governorate and aimed to explore entomopathogenic fungi isolated from indigenous (native) and invasive insects. Four enzymes were estimated for these fungi, lipases; phospholipases, proteases and chitinases. Also, the mortality of isolated fungi was studied. The results can be summarized as follow:
1- The samples collected from different sites from Minia governorate (Sammaloat- Minia- Abo Qorqas- Mallawi- Der moais) from different insects belonging to 2 gropes indigenous (aphids and tomato leaf miner) and invasive insects (red palm weevil and peach fruit fly). 26 fungal species were isolated and identified from these insects. SDA medium was used on isolation of fungi from these insects. On aphids, the highest incidence was represented by A. niger followed byT. irritans, S. brevicaulis, A. tenuissima, M. racemosus, F. proliferatum, F.proliferatum and F. solani. There aren’t found significantly different between different species except A. niger. On tomato leaf miner, the high incidence was represented by A. tenuissima followed by A.flavus and M. racemosus ranged from. There aren’t found significantly different between different species. On red palm weevil, the high incidence was represented by Aspergillus flavus followed by F. proliferatum, A. niger, F. solani, F. subglutinans, S. brevicaulis,T. pinophilumand Verticillium sp.. There also aren’t found significantly different between different species. On peach fruit fly, the high incidence was represented by Aspergillus flavus and A. niger followed by A. alternata, A. tenuissima, A. sydowii, F. verticillioides, M. racemosus, N. oryzae, P. oxalicumand P. chlamydosporia var. catenulata. There aren’t found significantly different between different species. The common fungal species obtained from both indigenous and invasive insects were A. niger, A. tenuissima, T. irritans, F. proliferatum, M. racemosus, S. brevicaulis, F. chlamydosporum, F. solani, and A. flavus. The widest spectrum of fungal species was obtained from aphids (21 species) whereas the narrowest occurred on tomato leaf minor (4 species). Invasive insects (red palm weevils and peach fruit flies) produced 8 and 10 fungal species, respectively.
