Abstract The purpose of this research is to reach the stage reached by the Egyptian funerary architecture of the tombs of senior state officials in the 5th and 6th Dynasties at Saqqara. This thesis is an inventory of the tombs that were built in Saqqara during the era of the Fifth and Sixth Dynasties and the architectural and geometrical development that reached the cemetery during these two Dynasties with the technical aspects of these tombs. This research includes three chapters, the first chapter is an introduction that includes the name and location of Saqqara and the shape of the cemetery before the Fifth and Sixth Dynasty. As for the second chapter, it contents the tombs built in Saqqara during the Fifth Dynasty and the architectural and geometrical planning and technical aspects of each cemetery. The third and final chapter includes the tombs of the Sixth Dynasty in Saqqara and the development of the cemetery. At the end of each chapter there is a table containing the namesof the tombs was built in Saqqara in order and arranged the tombs in chronological order of the kings in each Dynasty. The table also includes the function of the cemetery owner and his place in the country and who is the discoverer of the cemetery. |
