Abstract
Research Goals:
The study aims to achieve the following:
Knowing the standards for the design of a resilient space.
Study urban spaces that are prone to disasters and the reasons for being not ready to face these disasters or to deal with the occurrence of disaster.
Promoting disaster prevention oriented carefully to urban renewal.
URBAN RENEWABLE is part of solving the problems of urban spaces which can’t deal with disasters before or after they occurred. DISASTER RESISTANCE is not taking into consideration in the design
of urban spaces causing human, architecture, health, economic or social consequences when any natural or manmade disaster happened. URBAN RESILIENCE incompatibility of urban design elements with
the requirements of environment or safety of life. RISK MANAGEMENT is mandatory to prevent disasters thus humans
should find ways to resist or to deal with them.

Promoting capacity build on neighborhood level aiming at disaster prevention, emergence aid & post-disaster reconstruction.

Methodological framework for the study:
The thesis deals with the analysis of urban spaces and study disasters in Egypt and to achieve the study is based on several methods:
1-Historical Method :
Study and analyze urban spaces were designed and how they faced disasters which help to understand the past, present and predict the future.
2-Spatial Analysis Method:
The analysis of spatial differences which based on the information of the theoretical background and field studies. It aims to determine the suitability of the urban space to be resistant and to develop proposals on how to convert it to resilient urban space
