Abstract The negative effect of systemic arterial hypertension on human circulatory tissues as well defined in many literatures because of the highly vascularized nature of the eye. The effect of arterial hypertension on the retina and deep retinal tissues (choroid) is now of a great interest besides it is a risk factor for ocular vascular disease. Systemic hypertension directly results in a decrease in retinal blood flow. This study conducted at Ophthalmology Department, Suez Canal University Hospital, Ismailia, Egypt in 2019. The study included 60 eyes divided into two equal groups: • group A consists of 30 eyes of normal healthy individuals (control group). • group B consists of 30 eyes of controlled hypertensive patients. There was 16 males and 14 females in the study group (hypertensive group); while the control group included 18 males and 12 females . |
