To Perform such object, Canal embankments must stand safe and stable against the adverse effects, Caused by Internal and external forces, and may damage the embankments leading to crisis like villages and cities drawing and loss of lives. Embankment failures mainly arise due to overtopping or seepage effects. The present report discusses the effect of seepage through canal embankment on their stability. Seepage through embankments Is one factor that Results failure for embankments, especially embankments constructed in fill sections because of the high permeability of the used materials, Which represents 20 percent of failures for the mentioned type of embankments |
