Abstract Several worldwide attempts have been adopted to exploit the worldwide huge amount of the generated non-biodegradable wastes of polymers as well as the wide range of wood wastes. A new material mixture called wood-plastic composite (WPC) has emerged. WPCs are a combination of a thermoplastic matrix and a wood component such as sawdust and wood flour. Recently, the use of WPCs has been increasing especially for decking as alternative for wood. Using agriculture wastes as an alternative for wood wastes in WPCs has been gaining more and more interest to stop cutting trees down and decrease pollution. Rice straw (RS) is one of the most widespread unexploited agricultural wastes that pollutes the environment annually. |
