Abstract

In this study dispersed red- 153 dye was encapsulated with styrene- co-butyl acrylate copolymers via mini-emulsion polymerization and converted to Nano scale the encapsulated dye/polymer nanoparticles were spherical with an apparent shell–core structure, narrow size distributions, and good thermal stability, these nanoparticles were used as mini- emulsion dyes that could remain unchanged with good dying stability on fiber for a long time, using mini emulsion polymerization dye. The particle size and zeta potential was investigated by dynamic light scattering, also we detect morphology of Nano colored spheres by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and FTIR to Nano ,normal dye also detected. Dyeing of polyester fabrics was carried out to coated polyester fiber with (PEG6000+SORBITOL+CETAB( , non-coated polyester (original ) fabric before dying process in the temperature range 50-135 and compared with the polyester fabrics coated , non-coated before dying process with the same dyes in normal size by detect their k\s values.
The k\s values of uncoated polyester samples were investigated at several temperatures in a range 50-135 , shows higher value to the samples dying with Nano dye than the sample dying with normal dye, the values of k\s of coated polyester sample with different material (PEG6000, sorbitol, CETAB) dying with Nano and normal were also
XV
investigated, shows the higher to the sample coated with (PEG6000& sorbitol & CETAB).
k\s shows higher values to coated polyester samples which dyed with Nano dye at 70°C than the non-coated PET which dyed with Nano dye at 70°C and also k\s increase to coated polyester samples which dyed with normal dye than non-coated polyester sample dyed with normal dye at the same temperature.
Kinetic study for the dying process was carried out for the Nano &normal dye and shows increase in dye uptake to Nano dye than normal dye so increase K\S to sample dyed by Nano dye than the other dyed by normal dye and different fastness properties (washing, light and rubbing) for all dyed fabric were carried out.
Keywords: mini-emulsion polymerization, polyester, non-coated, coated, Nano dye, normal dye.
