Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the improvement of the bone density around immediately loaded dental implants after bone condensation with different techniques using; bone expanders, densah burs and implant with progressive threads design in replacement of missed maxillary posterior teeth. Twenty-one immediate loaded implants were placed in 14 female patients with missing maxillary posterior teeth. Patients were randomly divided according to the method of osseocondensation into three equal groups. group I: was performed by osseodensification technique by densah burs. group II: was performed by bone expander technique. group III: was performed by conventional surgical drilling technique, followed by placement of implants with progressive threads design. Clinical assessment of implant Stability was done immediate postoperative, three and six months post-operatively and also Peri-implant Probing Depth (PPD) and Modified Sulcus Bleeding Index (mSBI) were done at three and six months post-operatively. Radiographical assessment of the relative bone density was done by CBCT preoperatively and immediate postoperative. All clinical and radiographic data were subjected to statistical analysis There was an increase in bone density measurements postoperatively in the three groups, which suggests compression of the bone around implants after their placement. Dental implants with progressive threads are the treatment of choice in the areas of poor bone quality as the bone expander and densah burs are expensive and technique sensitive.
