المستخلص

The present study has followed the descriptive analytical method, and the researcher has relied on the study issue to indicate the importance of the users of the horizon system applied in Kuwait University libraries to the skills of using the system; In order to benefit from its advantages efficiently and easily, and to derive the most important ways through which these skills can be developed in unprecedented ways in cooperation between university administration and the departments of those libraries, and with the participation of the library specialist with students and teaching-staff members, the overall average of the training axis in the use of information technology among the student sample has reached (2.98), which is equivalent to an intermediate level. the overall average of the training axis in the use of the horizon system for the student sample has reached (2.78), which is equivalent to an intermediate level. the overall average of the skills axis of the horizon system users in the sample of students reached (3.25), which is equivalent to an intermediate level. the overall average of the axis of resource’s role in training the users of the horizon system for the student sample has reached (2.78), which is equivalent to an intermediate level. the overall average for the axis of obstacles to using the horizon system for the students’ sample was (2.96), which is equivalent to an intermediate level. the absence of statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between the averages of students and teaching-staff members in each of the axis ”training on the use of information technology” and the axis ”training on using the horizon system”, which indicates the convergence of the appreciation of students and teaching-staff members to them . the absence of statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) between the averages of the teaching-staff members according to the type in each of the axis “training on the use of information technology, the supplier’s role axis in training users of the horizon system, the axis of skills of users of the horizon system, and the axis of obstacles to use, which indicates the convergence of assessment of teaching-staff members from both genders of the survey axes.
