Abstract

concentration of IL-17, IL-23 and TNF-α are also significantly higher in CSU patients which may highlight a role of Th17 cells in CSU.(11) These observations support the notion that T lymphocytes may be involved in the pathogenesis of CSU.(12)
T regulatory cells (Tregs) are a component of the immune system that suppress immune responses of other cells. This is an important ”selfcheck” built into the immune system to prevent excessive reactions. Tregs come in many forms with the most well-understood being those that express CD4, CD25, and Foxp3.(13)
