Abstract
Administration of Omega-3 either alone or in combination with chemotherapeutic drug MTX ameliorates anorexia through:
• Modulating POMC gene expression.
• Increasing GHRL hormone concentrations
• Hypothalamus protection.
• Attenuating lipid profile (decreases triglyceride, cholesterol, Low density lipoprotein levels and elevates High density lipoprotein levels).
• Stimulating appetite and food intake.
• Increases the number of taste buds and their taste cells.
• Decreases the neuronal vacuolation.
• Exhibiting normal neuronal cells.
