Abstract

Hyperlipidemia is one of the most important risk factors for CVD.
CVD is one of the most common cause of deaths with about 17 million
people die of CVD every year worldwide.
So the trend of alternative medicine was to know some plants that
are used to lower hyperlipidemia.
The study aimed to know the effect of adding mulberry leaves and
fruits (add different concentrations) present in some Egyptian local
markets add to food experimental animal to know the positive effect to
hyperlipidemia.
Moisture, ash, fiber, crude fat and crude protein were determined,
total carbohydrate were calculated by difference.
Forty five adult male albino rats weighing 170 ±4. ten weeks old .
The rats were divided randomly, in to nine groups (five rats each) with
similar weigh . One of them was negative control which fed standard diet,
while the other eight groups were injected with 2% cholesterol.
One group of hyperlipidemia rats was positive control and fed
standard diet along the trial. Other groups were fed on experimental diet
adding with 2.5 , 5 , 7.5 mulberry fruits and leaves :-
group 1: Negative control was fed standard diet .
group 2: Positive control was fed standard diet .
group 3: hyperlipidemia rats were fed standard diet plus 2.5 % of white
mulberry fruits
group 4: hyperlipidemia rats were fed standard diet plus 5 % of white
mulberry fruits .
