Abstract

One data set of MLC agility parameters was successfully modeled in Monaco treatment planning system for one of Versa HD LINAC and was verified for the other matched using the Express QA package. However, by using one set MLC parameters for the two matched LINACs a clinical significant deviation was found between systems during VMAT plans. This finding might lead to loss of privilege of sweeping patients between the matched LINACs without any modifications. Extra work and investigations are needed for keeping the extremely privilege of the matched LINACs in VMAT plans without effect on quality and efficiency of radiation treatment plan. Special considerations should be taken for MLC parameters in acceptance and commissioning of the matched LINACs and also extra verification procedures should be involved in the scheduled quality assurance program of the LINACs.
It is recommended that to achieving a highly matching level between the matched LINACs; Express QA package should be involved in the acceptance testing procedures of the matched Elekta LINACs before commissioning and modeling the MLC into TPS.
