Abstract
An increase in the elderly population has resulted in a higher incidence of per trochanteric fractures of the femur. To prevent the complications of prolonged immobilization, timely management with appropriate methods providing sound stabilization of the fracture and early mobilization of the patients becomes increasingly important for these fractures.
