Abstract

DNA fingerprinting, also known as DNA profiling and forensic
genetics, represents one of the late 20th century’s great ingenuities. The
current Ph.D thesis analyzed different apllications for DNA
fingerprinting, chiefly the effect of chemical toxins on human DNA
fingerprinting, the assessment of eDNA for identifying the type and
distribution of organisms and their abundance, and also in controlling of
processed food and cooked meat, and in animal feeds to control fraud,
mixing Halal with Haram meat, and detecting dangerous protein types in
animal feeds.
1- Genotoxicity and its effect on DNA Fingerprinting
Mitomycin C (MMC) is a potent and commonly used antineoplastic
antibiotic. It induces various biological effects in mammalian cells such as:
selective DNA synthesis inhibition. This Ph.D thesis aimed to study the effect
of three different doses of MMCon DNA loci of three different blood samples
using PCR technique. The results showed that the mean values of peak height
of control group (A) gp (B) treated with 0.1µg/ml MMC gp (C) treated
with 0.3 µg/ml MMC gp (D) treated with 0.5µg/ml MMC.
