It is a member of 18 species of genus Anisacanthus. It is an increasingly common ornamental perennial shrub in Texas and it is cultivated in other parts of the Southwestern United States. The ornamental benefit of A. virgularisis showy shrub with ornamental blooms for perennial gardens and other planned landscapes and its flowers attract hummingbirds and butterflies Due to few phytochemical and biological reports on A. virgularis, this encouraged us to deeply investigate its phytoconstituents and possible biological activities.Thunbergia erecta, is a well-mannered shrub capable of growing 4 to 6 feet tall. It is easily recognized as a member of the Thunbergiagenus with its yellow-throated tubular purple flowers, but the flowers and the leaves are smaller than its taller cousins. |
