Abstract
Coronary artery diseases are still a main etiology of patients, mortality and morbidity.
Understanding the histopathological changes in the ischaemic myocardium is crucial for improving both diagnostic and management methods.
Early reperfusion of occluded coronary artery is a main management tool to maintain the myocardium viability post STEMI.
Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging is a rapidly developing tool that helps to both understand the histopathological and pathophysiological changes in the diseased myocardium with new emerging tool as the extracellular volume which help in the paving the way for proper management of the patients.
In the present study patients diagnosed with STEMI were subjected to revascularization by primary PCI.
In the present study 66.6% patients suffered from anterior myocardial infarction with LAD as the culprit vessel with the rest of patients had inferior MI,in the 83%patients(25 of the 30patient) DES was deployed while in 3 patients BMS was deployed and two patients there was no significant lesion post aspiration so no stenting approach was adopted.
In 60% of the patients radial approach was adopted .
Baseline and follow up cardiac MRI were done.
