Abstract The Lane Emden differential equation is a nonlinear, second order, singular ordinary differential equation that has been one of the fundamental equations in the theory of stellar structure. The equation has also been the focus of many studies as it appears in several scientific areas and applications including thermal explosions, thermal behavior of a spherical cloud of gas, thermionic currents, radiative cooling, governing the concentrations of oxygen and the carbon substrate, studies of non isothermal, spherical catalysts, modeling polytropical models, etc. |
