Abstract

Obesity is a chronic worldwide health problem, which affect more than 600 million person and expected to increase in the next decade by about 40%.Obesity has several complications on the body as DM, hypertension, ischemic heart disease, dyslipidemia, GERD and obstructive sleep apnea. In addition, obesity has hazardous effect on the kidney as ORG, FSGS, diabetic nephropathy and renal stones In this trial 82 patient were assessed for obesity parameters (clinical, laboratory and radiological) and correlate it with 24 hour urinary protein and oxalate and creatinine clearance then this patients did bariatric surgeries either laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy or laparoscopic mini gastric bypass and then we assessed the kidney functions 1 month, 3 months, 6 months after the operation Results: most of our patients has hyperfiltration, protinuric and hyperoxaluric, which associated with decrease in creatinine clearance, 24-hour urinary protein with the same 24 hour urinary oxalate. Our trial found significant increase of 24 hour urinary oxalate execration after laparoscopic mini gastric bypass and significant reduction of oxalate execration after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy.
