Abstract
Oral health is an essential part of overall health and well-being. Poor oral hygiene can lead to dental cavities and gum disease, and has also been linked to heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.
Dental caries continues to be one of the most common and prevalent chronic diseases in both developed and developing countries. A multi-factorial disease that involves tooth structure, oral micro biota, and dietary carbohydrates, ’’tooth decay’’ results in the dissolution of the mineral content of teeth and must be thought of as dependent on its key contributing factors. With ramifications ranging from societal to psychological to medical, dental caries can have serious consequences for patients. The current paradigm for management of dental caries is evidence-based and favors non-invasive therapies to prevent and/or arrest the progression of the disease.
The earlier to learn proper oral hygiene habits the easier to avoid costly dental procedures and long-term health issues. So maintaining healthy teeth and gums is a lifelong commitment by the preventive interventions for mothers for better oral health of their children.
This study is a step to improve dental health which is reflected in child health by Assess parent‟s knowledge, attitude and practice regarding oral and dental health of their children among basic-learning schools children in Menoufia governorate.
The study was conducted on then sample of 392 students were selected and proportional located according to total number of children in each school, so we select 132 from Taha Hussein primary school
