Abstract

Chronic liver disease is one of the most serious health problems at the international level because of its serious complications may lead to death, Hepatitis C virus infection is also one of the main causes of liver cirrhosis in Egypt with an estimated prevalence between members of the community from 10 to an average of 13% and the ratio of health problems 22% in 2014 which is equivalent to 15 million citizens, and thus Egypt is considered to be the highest in hepatitis C virus prevalence.
When the virus become active, it leads to cirrhosis as a result of the continuous exposure of the liver to inflammation and damage for a long period, which may eventually lead to failure and deficiency in liver function, which in turn appear in the image of esophageal varices and bleeding from them, hepatic encephalopathy, and generalized weakness in the body, also leads to be abdominal ascites.
