Abstract characterization and electrochemical studies of group VI metal carbonyl complexes with some Schiff Bases” The reaction of M(CO)6 (M = Mo or W) with 4-nitro-N-(pyridine-2-ylmethylene) aniline (NPMA) Schiff base in absence and presence of a secondary ligand; triphenylphosphine (TPP), thiourea (Tu) or pyridine (Py) in THF were studied. The thermal reaction of NPMA with Mo(CO)6 in absence and presence of a secondary ligand gave the four complexes Mo(CO)4(NPMA), Mo(CO)3(NPMA)(TPP), Mo2(O)2(CO)2(NPMA)2(Py)2 and Mo2(O)2(CO)4 (NPMA)(Tu)2. Also, the thermal reaction of W(CO)6 with NPMA in THF resulted in the formation of the complex W2(O)6(NPMA) while under sunlight irradiation the reaction of W(CO)6 with NPMA in absence and presence of pyridine gave the two complexes W2(CO)6(NPMA)2 and W2(O)6(NPMA)(Py)2, respectively. In addition, the thermal reaction of M(CO)6 (M = Cr or Mo) and 4,5- dimethyl-N,N-bis(pyridine-2-yl-methylene)benzene-1,2-diamine (DMPA) in. |
