Abstract

English summary
This thesis comprises three main chapters in addition to Arabic and English summaries and the relevant references.
The First Chapter: Introduction
This chapter introduces a scientific literature survey related nitrogen containing ligands, metal complexes of nitrogen containing ligands, regarding design, synthesis and characterization of different examples of metal complexes. In addition, the effect of gamma irradiation on some metal complexes was discussed.
The Second Chapter: Experimental
This chapter introduces detailed account about the method of synthesis of different metal(II): manganese II, cobalt II, nickel II, and copper II complexes of nitrogen containing ligand.
Different standardized instruments as elemental analysis, spectral (UV-Vis; IR), molar conductivity measurements, magnetic moment, EPR, thermal (TG/DTG) technique and 3D molecular modelling. In addition, solid electrical conductivity was carried out.
Some selected complexes were subjected to gamma irradiation to a dose of 100kGy at dose rate of 2.2 KGy h-1.The FT-IR, UV–visible absorption spectra, molar conductivities, magnetic susceptibilities Electron spin resonance for Cu(II)complexes, thermal analysis (TG/DTG), X-ray powder diffraction and solid electrical conductivity measurements for irradiated samples were carried out.
