Abstract Trans-cranial ultrasound could be considered as a valuable screening modality which can also provide a much more convenient method for follow-up of patients in a setting of acute and critical care. However, TCUS could fail in detecting as many lesions as MRI. Therefore, TCUS might severely underestimate the degree of injury.(Garrett WJ 1975) (Lees RF 1978) MRI is the gold standard imaging for infant brain problems. It is required in most neonates who have suspicions of parenchymal brain injury or neurological manifestations. MRI is a substantial and conclusive evaluation modality regarding its superior sensitivity and pathology discriminating techniques. |
