Abstract

The purpose of the present work was designed to evaluate the antifungal activities of the bioactive metabolites of some isolated actinomycete isolates from soil samples on the growth of tomato wilt pathogen as well as their efficacy on tomato Fusarium wilt disease incidence and characterize the antifungal bioactive compounds from the selected identified actinomycetes. In the present study, twenty actinomycetes isolates were isolated from cultivated and uncultivated mixed soil samples of each from Gharbiya and Menofiya governorates using dilution plate method. Out of the twenty isolated actinomycetes isolates thirteen isolates were isolated from cultivated soil, (seven isolates from soil samples collected from Gharbiya and six isolates isolated from soil samples of Menofiya governorates). While the actinomycetes isolates isolated from uncultivated collected soil samples were three isolates collected from soil of Gharbiya and four from Menofiya governorates .The twenty isolated actinomycetes isolates were screened for their antifungal activities against F.oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici using agar well diffusion method, thirteen actinomycetes isolates showed antifungal activities against growth of F.oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici where the diameters of inhibition zones ranged from 1.0 to 3.0 cm comparing with the growth in control plates. While the rest of the seven actinomycetes isolates were not recorded any inhibitory effect against F.oxysporum where the inhibition zones were not recorded .Out of the thirteen isolates act.1 and act.2 recorded the highest inhibitory effect against F.oxysporum where the diameters of inhibition zones were 3.0 and 2.8 cm respectively.
