Abstract
The objectives of the current study are to evaluate the reservoir characterizations and Hydrocarbon potentialities light of available data about the previous drilled wells and its effect on the area of study. The ultimate purpose of the study is to define the best location for the next new development and exploration wells in the area of study.The studied area is located in the northern part of the Western Desert. Geographically, it includes the eastern part of the Qattara Depression and The area occupies the central part of the Abu Gharadig Basin It extends between latitudes 29° 45\N and 29° 50\ N., and longitudes 27° 30\ and 28° 30\ E.The study relied on the use of available data, which are geological reports, class and structural data, seismic data,electrical recordings and geochemical reports for the research area.General information about the area of study in terms of location and surrounding areas and the history of oil discoveries in the region provided. Also the geology of the area of study in terms of stratigraphy and structure had been studied
