Abstract

Selection of the fetal sex becomes increasly nowadays for medical or non medical (social )reasons .It is now more accurate , ready available , some of them (do-it yourself) and the other require medical intervention.
from these methods to determine the fetal sex are the time of intercourse to women`s ovulation, maternal diet, and vaginal Ph at the time of the ovulation .
Ph in our body is differ from an area to the other .Vaginal Ph is less than 4,7 and it plays an important role in protection against microbical over growth.
from several decades fetal sex determination was an important mater so many natural selection methods were used such as changing of vaginal ph by acidic or alkaline douches just before the intercourse. Using acidic douch if the desired fetal sex is a girl , and using alkaline douche if the desired fetal sex is a boy .
from our study we find that if the vaginal
Ph was acidic before intercourse the fetus with a large extend will be a girl , by contrast if the vaginal ph was alkaline before intercourse the fetus with a large extend will be a boy.
Acidic vaginal environment weaken the activity of y spermatozoa so x spermatozoa will be predominant so the fetus more or less will be a girl .On the other hand alkaline vaginal environment strengthen y spermatozoa so the fetus more or less will be a boy.
Natural selection methods like vaginal Ph and maternal diet may be used in preconceptional sex determination as an easy available, cheep, self used by the mother and more or less effective but still the most accurate method for fetal sex determination is medical intervention before fertilization.
