Abstract
Fluoroscopy is the standard imaging modality used for guiding lumbar selective root injection, but besides the hazards of radiation it also does not show soft tissue, vessels nor nerves. An increased risk of intravascular injection has been reported with this technique even with use of digital subtraction angiography
With the advances in ultrasonographic technology, the use of ultrasonography as a guiding technique can avoid the problems associated with fluoroscopy
