Abstract In the present study, 1450 lung cases of imported beef cattle aged 2 to 3 years old were examined at the Middle East abattoirs of Abu-Simbel city –Aswan Governorate- Egypt. In the period from July 2017 to March 2018. The aim of the present work was to report the incidence rate of the pulmonary affections. During the postmortem examination, the gross changes were recorded. 110 samples were taken from the examined lungs and it’s related regional lymph nodes. Another sample was also taken for microbiological studies. Based on histopathological as well as microbiological studies. The lesions were classified into 4 (3.6%) cases were diagnosed as chronic bronchiolitis and emphysema, 49 (44.54%) cases were diagnosed as bronchopneumonia, 36 (32.7%) cases were diagnosed as fibrinous pleuropneumonia, 5 (4.5%) cases were diagnosed as interstitial pneumonia, 13 (11.81%) cases were diagnosed as granulomatous pneumonia. Granulomatous pneumonia grouped into: A-Tuberculus pneumonia was diagnosed in 11 (10%) cases. 2 cases were miliary form and 9 cases were large nodular form and protracted organ T.B associated with caseous tuberculus pneumonia and caseous tuberculus lymphadenitis. B-Mycotic pneumonia was recorded in 2 (1.8%) cases which caused by Asperigulus fumigatus species and 3 (2.7%) cases were diagnosed as verminous pneumonia. Bacteriological examination, a different micro-organisms were isolated which were correlated well with the gross and histopathological lesions reported in pulmonary tissue of the related cases. The isolated micro-organisms include Pasteurella multocida, Mannheimia haemolytica, Mycoplasma mycoides subspp. mycoides, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Corynebacterium pyogenes, Mycobacterium bovis, Pseudomonas species, Proteus species and klebsiella Spp. |
