Abstract The BED-15 field forms part of Badr El Din concession in the Western Desert some 300 km west of Cairo and some 100 km west of the BED-1 producing field. It lies within the Abu Gharadig basin. The Abu Roach Formation contains a number of producing zones and is characterized by a cyclic alternation of deltaic flood-plain sandstones, coastal sandstones, shales and shallow marine shales and limestones. It attains about 700 m in thickness and is divided into seven members (from ’A’ to ’G’). Using well log analysis four reservoir units are identified in the Abu Roach ’C’ and ’D’ Member: Unit-2, Unit-2A and Unit-3,4. Units 1 and 4 do not contain sands. It is therefore, recommended to carry out development/exploration activity to assess the Abu Roach ervoir (unit 2) for more production from this unit. One of the main methods for enhancement for oil recovery is wettability change. The majority of enhanced oil recovery mechanisms purposefully alter the wettability of the reservoir rock from oil-wet to water-wet; to increase the amount of oil recovered from it. . It was concluded that the Nano silicate and aluminum were the best Nano concentration from 1.0 to 4.0 g/L and Nano scale 28-32 nm to change the rock wettability form oil wet to water wet .By doing so these will be reflect on the amount of producing oil. So it can be increased oil productivity by wettability change from oil wet to water wet which was the target of our research. |
