Abstract

The environmental pollution in the air, water, and foods lead to health problems and physical impairment for many people who are exposed to this pollution (heavy elements) because it cause many diseases (diseases of narrow arteries of the heart - atherosclerosis - increased pressure - kidneys disease - functional impairment of liver - Bone diseases) and it was found that the chemical drugs used in the treatment of poisoning such of heavy elements lead to adverse side effects on the body.
The moringa tree, which grows in many places is used in the treatment of many diseases and is used in folk medicine It was found that the water extract and acetone extract of the leaves of the moringa tree may reduce the harmful effect of exposure to heavy elements (cadmium and lead), which are used in many industries Batteries - power transmission cables - computer - metal alloys - water pipes - also found in petroleum oil, coal and tobacco). The aim of such study was to investigate the following aspects : First: Studying the chemical composition of the leaves of moringa tree. Second: An experiment was carried out to assess the effect of moringa watery and acetone extracts on rats exposed to poisoning by cadmium and lead.
A. Chemical Composition of Moringa leaves :
1 - Moringa leaves were found to contain 25.86% protein, 40.83% total carbohydrates, 3.22% crud lipids, in addition to 16.11% crud fiber
2 - The leves were found to contain antioxidants( 237.1 mg / g phenols, 141.7 mg / g flavones)when drawing water.extract was used .
3. In the chromatographic analysis of phenols, moringa leaves were found to contain 23 phenolic compounds and it was found that vanillic, salicylic and Catechins phenols are present in large quantities 1348.52, 593.82, 42.93 mg / 100 g dry matter, respectively.
4 - 22 flavones were found also to have the following flavones concentrations: lute - 6 – Arabinose, 8 glucose.
