The study tackled the reasons for not applying the holographic technology in the Egyptian libraries and information institutions, as well as the planning of the application of technology at the level of the Egyptian and Arab libraries in particular and information institutions in general. this researcher applied the analytical descriptive method as a way to find out the reasons for not employing technology in Arab libraries and information institutions. The questionnaire was used as an essential tool for research.
The study came in a systematic introduction, four chapters, then conclusions and recommendations, and this study has three supplements
These chapters can be briefly shown as follows: The first chapter of this study, entitled ”Holographic Technology: Introduction and Foundations,” introduces the holographic technique in terms of (concept, historical development, tools required for technical work, ... etc
Followed by the second chapter entitled ”Applications of Holographic Technology in the Field of libraries Work”, in which the researcher dealt with three main axes: the benefits of the holographic technology in the field of libraries, the applied fields of holography technology, and international libraries that applied technology.
And then the third chapter entitled ”Results of the field study” in which the researcher dealt with a number of demographic determinants and their relationship to the employment of holographic technology, and a comparison between the universities and colleges of the study sample.
Finally, the fourth chapter entitled ”The Proposed model for the Application of Holographic Technology in Arab University Libraries”, in which the researcher tackled proposed stages of applying the holographic technique in the Arab university libraries. The study ended with a series of results, the most important of which are:
1.The overall trend of the sample of the study is that there is no application of the holographic technology in the surveyed libraries by 100%. 2.The libraries of Cairo University represented the most university libraries under study, agreeing to the reasons for not using the holographic technology in the surveyed libraries by 95%.
3.The libraries of the University of Beni Suef represented the fewest libraries of the universities under study, agreeing to the reasons for not employing the holographic technology in the surveyed libraries by 50%.
The study recommends a number of recommendations including:
1.To spread awareness among information specialists about the role of holographic technology in the development of libraries.
2.To provide the necessary training programs to spread the culture of using the holographic technology and to identify its importance.
3.The need for due care from researchers in the field of information and libraries to research and studies that follow up the technological developments in the field of office work.
